One day a year...

Mother's Day... a day for mother's. I am sure I am not the only woman who has spent many hours today pondering motherhood. The responsibilities, the rewards, and especially, that special place in our hearts for our own moms. How do we ever repay our moms for everything that they have done for us... the lessons they have taught us, the sacrifices they made for us, all of those sleepless nights (that I can really sympathize with now that I too, am a mom.) I guess by doing the absolute best that we can do with our own children. I only pray that I can pass on to my children the many things I learned (and am still learning!) from my mom... maybe one day they will feel for me the way I feel about her. I have to admit (and have even been told by others) that my mom is truly the best you can get. Not only as a mother but as a daughter of our Heavenly Father, she is such an example to me. Thanks mom, for everything. Happy Mother's Day.

Elder Holland (1997) implores:
Remember, remember, all the days of your motherhood. . . [to] rely on Him. Rely on Him heavily. Rely on Him forever. . . . He is blessing you and He will bless you, even—no, especially—when your days and your nights may be the most challenging. . . . Christ will say to the women who worry and wonder and sometimes weep over their responsibility as mothers, "Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole" (Matthew 9:22). And it will make your children whole as well. (¶ 21-22)
