The inspiring artist that is within me was unleashed on thursday afternoon. Luckily, I started out with some great canvases. Who knew that wet chalk could entertain an adult woman for an entire afternoon. Gone were thoughts of mopping and laundry.... my mind was consumed with the color and texture that was chalk... yes, my childrens sidewalk chalk. Okay, I'll give them credit (or blame)...."they started it!" But I, ME, MOM, finished it. There was something fully satisfiying about pressing the wet chalk into the pavement and squishing the smooth residue in between my palms. I made a BIG mess.... and loved it. My assistants helped me decide which color to put where and looked at me sideways when I asked what color they'd like the inside of their ears to be. We had a blast to say the least.
