A good mom will teach her children. She teaches them about love, how to do it and how to feel it. She teaches them how good it feels to serve others, to be a friend. A good mom teaches her child that he/she is a child of a Heavenly Father who knows them and loves them, and wants the absolute best for them. She gathers her little ones and whispers words of love, strength, and comfort. She listens to them. She provides encouragement. She shows unconditional love and acceptance.
There are so many different ways to be a mom and to really embrace motherhood and take it on like the full-time job that it is. It's easy to get caught up in the stuff that makes life enjoyable, but I like to think that most important, above anything else is teaching and showing my kids how truly special they are. Special enough to know who they really are.... children of God, that they have a divine purpose here on earth, they are part of a plan, and that dreams can come true... through prayer, patience, and unconditional love and acceptance.
There may not always be warm cookies for my kids when they stamp mud through the front entrance, home from a long, hard day at school, but there is always, always a hug and an "I love you". What would you prefer to come home to ?

Again, you are amazing. You have completely zeroed in on the whole purpose of mothers. Thank you for the reminder.
Pretty inspiring. I hope I did some of those things for you guys. I look back now and wish I knew then what I know now. Oh well I did my best and obviously when I look at my 3 children I can see a lot of those traits in the 3 of you. Love the thought you put in to your posts. Love Mom
