I love Sundays because they recharge my soul for the week to come. Some friends and I were remembering a conference talk that encouraged writing in a journal. It's so easy to get caught up in the "why me" of our trials. The "how come" and the "what now" can become overbearing. Our trials may not be only for us. If we are keeping a record of our trials, thoughts, and feelings then our posterity can learn and be inspired from our experiences. I always wonder how I can teach my children from my example, rather than them having to learn everything on their own. There are a few things I've gone through in my life that I'd rather they didn't have to. You know, stupid decisions of youth, when you think you know better than what you've been taught all your life... but then in the end, mom was right all along. Maybe keeping a journal is the answer.
My friends and I talked about seeing the hand of God on a daily basis. Every day. And keeping record of it. I may not have had the time to record these thoughts on a daily basis but I have sure thought about it.
The most important thing in life is family. I'm not going to sweat the small stuff. I will do the very best that I can and I will hope and pray that people will not judge me for letting my four-year-old dress herself for church, and do her own hair for school. Because she loves to do it. I hope that my kids will learn to be better friends and that they will learn to love to serve others. I will not lose my patience. I will not yell (as often). I will start fresh every day.
I believe in prayer, the power that it has in our lives. The peace it can provide, the strength it can sustain. I heard something great that was said at another conference last night for the women of our church. We concentrate on our prayers being answered but we also should think about being the answer to a prayer. Be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I hope that I can do this, tomorrow, and the next day. Being a mama provides plenty of opportunity to do this.... an instrument in the Lord's hands... hmm, I have some work to do....speaking of which, I have a chapter of Charlotte's Web to read, their foreheads to kiss, their sweetness to inhale which will sustain me until they wake (hopefully not before the sun rises).

Thanks for this uplifting post, Andy. I have to admit I've been rather remiss in writing in my journal lately and you've inspired me to do so and to mention the little miracles in my life. Miss you lots and your kids too. :)
Well said Andy and very motivating!
You are amazing! Thank you.
