So the verdict? More tests......
An x-ray of her adenoids (because of the crazy snoring and mouth breathing).
A referral to the gastrointestinal doctor at the Children's Hospital. Oh yeah, did I mention she has several gallstones? It's crazy.
Some samples of a pill to aid the trial of a lactose-free diet. (Side-note: when I was telling Dan about "no-dairy" Kami cried because she thought she couldn't eat Dairy Queen ever again, poor kid).
A crazy amount of blood work to check her liver function.
A urinalysis.
A "sweat test" to check for cystic fibrosis.
Most of these will be done on Thursday. Hopefully we will not have to wait too long to get into the G.I. at the Children's Hospital. As we were leaving the pediatricians office she said "make sure if she ever has really bad pain, like screaming pain, you take her to emergency right away".... and I replied "oh, screaming in pain like she does every night?". I don't think they really understand how it is. Oh, well. Maybe after all this we will get some better answers than the "growing pains" that most docs give me. (Although the ped. did say she is so flat-footed and has such poor muscle tone that she probably does get strained muscles and sore legs.)
Oh, and one more thing I forgot... I'm supposed to feed her All Bran Buds with Psylium. I wonder how she'll like that in her lactose-free milk.... sounds

ahhh you poor mom! I can totally realate. Carson went through a MILLION test...most of which you mentioned. Be persistant and don't stop until you get an answer. You are your childs only advocate and you know when something isn't right!
poor Kami! I hope you guys get some answers soon!
Ahh poor little Kami. I sure hope all these test and appointments help, and you find out what is really wrong, so she can get better!
I'm sure the doctors love you guys! That is too bad that she has to go through all of that, good luck with it all! Hope to see you guys soon, I don't know what our plans are for the summer yet!
I'm so sorry to hear about all the stress and pain for both of you. As for the Buds, can she eat some kind of yogurt? They are pretty good in that, or blend them up in a smoothie? I'm thinking of you and Kami!
Ahhh poor little Kami, hang in there, hopefully you will get answers soon. You can put that All bran in anything, my 19 month old will totally eat it right up in yogurt but I don't know if that helps you or not....good luck.
Glad to hear the doctor did such a thorough check. Hope the appt on Thursday goes well.
Well I've read this about 3 times and haven't commented cause it makes me cry. We can only pray that they can fix her up "good as new". You are such a strong Mom I'm proud of you.
