Tonight I kiss my 20's goodbye. Six months ago I was really sad about it. But things have changed (boy, have they changed). So now, I'm not too worried about entering my 30's. (It helps that everyone keeps encouraging me that 30's are the best).
My 29th year was pretty substantial. I learned so much about so many different things. Things that I never dreamt I would have to know about. And now looking back, well I wont say I'm grateful for it all but for some, yes. Definitely. Because really "yesterday's trial is tomorrow's testimony". I'm not sure who said that but I whole heartedly agree.
I learned to have a little faith in myself. Most of the time, I feel I do an okay job. I try my very, very best to be a good mother. I also try to do a little laundry and to dust once in a while.
I learned to let others help when they offer. This is not easy for me. I'm fairly independent and do not rely on others too often to help me out. I had to do a lot of asking others for help and support over the last year and thank goodness I have so many great friends and family members that I can go to for help when I need it. And I do mean great. (um, Shaunie gave me a piano for my birthday...)
I learned to love the gospel and the Savior even more than I already did. My testimony has grown so much I can hardly think about it without getting tight in the chest and teary eyed.
I've realized what is really important in life : Family
Most of all I learned to trust the Lord. He knows me personally. He knows what is best for me. And yes, He even knows when I cannot take anymore. He sends help when I need it. He answers my prayers. He buffers my fears. I believe it with all my heart.
My life would be drastically different right now if I did not know these things. I made it through a really tough year and I did not do it on my own. I wish everyone could have this same support and faith when going through tough times.
Arrivederci 29.
Buon giorno 30.
