skipping today

When I am not ridiculously busy, I am ridiculously tired these days. Hence, the lack of blog posts. However, I think about things I want to record daily.

So today I am taking the day to do what I want to do... the things I have been wanting to do all week.
I skipped preschool this morning (anything colder than -20 is not preschool worthy anyhow... will winter ever end?!).
I worked out for over an hour and it felt so good (especially when I took a break to slurp a gallon of water out of the bathroom sink).
I am updating my blog. So if you choose to read this you'll have to put up with my randomness and my addiction to taking (and posting) far too many pictures.

Ty is turning eight this weekend. He has a party planned with with a couple of friends to see Bolt in 3D. Last night we took him shopping for a new bike.

We spent some time last week at the cabin. So relaxing and fun. Although, if I have to play checkers one more time I may cry... and I'm sure Dan and my mom feel the same. My mom watched three of the girls while Dan, Ty, Paige and I went in to Kalispell to do some shopping. It was fun to spend some time with just those two kids and to enjoy some shopping without our full entourage in tow. We definitely hesitated to come home to our busy routine, but I was happy to come home to five bedrooms and two cribs. Babies just don't sleep the same away from home.

Paige and I went to her speech therapy class yesterday and had a blast. She played with toys while I chatted with the speech pathologist, then we did a craft which she boldly claimed "done" when she was finished. Totally new word... and used spontaneously... bonus! She had a snack and then a circle time. She loved it.... so did I. It was awesome to spend one-on-one time with her.

Natalie is growing up so quickly. She is quite chatty and loves to say "dad" when I prompt her to say "mom". She crawls all over the place and is getting quite good at pulling herself up to standing and loved to bang on the windows at the cabin (and on Paige's door at nap time). I think she is pretty much the cutest baby ever. She loves to have your full attention and to make you laugh.
The girls in bed... snuggling, I think.
The 5-minute mug cakes that were too good and too fast.

The final outcome of the girls painting their own toenails on girls night.

This was "dress your children like orphans day"... oh, it was Dan's birthday too.

My mom feeds the deer at her cabin so this provided much of the entertainment for the days we were there.

So happy for you that Paige is starting to talk more... watch out pretty soon you won't be able to get her to stop!

Somedays you just have to take "you" days. Loved the post. Where is your Moms cabin at? Looks like a blast.

first of all--you have an 8 year old!!! what? and second of all- every last one of your kids are to die for adorable. i am being honest when i say that you have one of the cutest families i have ever seen- including yourself.you look amazing by the way. i also can't believe how big your baby is getting! and i'm pretty sure sophie is an orphan 9 times out of ten. she already insists on dressing herself (mostly in her grey sweats and pajama shirts) and most days i dont have the energy to argue.

Great pictures. I really enjoyed my time there with you guys. I'm glad the weather wasn't too bad. I love the deer and was so glad so many came around for you guys. Hopefully we will have lots of fun times there in the future.
