Yesterday I went to fill in January on Nat's baby book (it's calendar style) and realized I just didn't have anything to write for the month. Weird, I feel like I've been busy. I know she's cut another tooth.... bringing her up to 6! It got me thinking to all of the things that haven't been written down because they didn't seem important or note-worthy at the time but then they are so easily and quickly forgotten!
I've been wanting to record thoughts about our girls night that we had a few weeks ago when the boys went to the Flames game. (Oh, and Ty got to shake Conroy's hand... and rub Iginla's head... eat your heart out Flames fans).
I let the girls paint their own toe and finger nails. This was big.... for me. I've never allowed this before and it was not easy to do. There will be pictures to come. We finished off the night making 5 minute chocolate mug cakes and watching Mama Mia. (Yes, I let my kids watch it. No, I don't want know what you think about that.)
My mom and I went to the Valentine Read-In with Ty and Chels last Friday. Mom with Ty, me with Chels. It was awesome. I got to snuggle with Chels on a scrap of carpet on the gymnasium floor and read our fave books together: Silly Sally, The Giving Tree, and SnugglePuppy. It was much more comfy this year. Last year when I got to go with Ty, I was pretty pregnant and my legs were numb within the first five minutes.
We ate heart sugar cookies, sang some songs and checked out her Valentine goodies from her classmates. Thank you so much Rayanna for babysitting the little girls so I could go to this. (And by babysitting I mean making Valentines, feeding them snack, and sending them home with adorable Valentine treats. I'm tellin' ya, she's amazing....)
On Friday night, Dan and I went out for dinner for a friends birthday (ooh, you're soo ooold. I know, I'm so mature.... and younger.) But the best part was coming home to five sleeping babies and a clean house! This is a huge undertaking for any babysitter (have I mentioned before that my kids can be awful for babysitters?) and she did a fabulous job... best ever!
So though it may seem that not a lot has been happening... a lot has happened. I thought I'd better write it down before I forgot it all.
Oh, and Paige started talking. She says many new words a day and tries to say many more. Today I heard supper, yummy, tattoo, more, and no (about a thousand times). You should have seen her "explaining" to Shaunie and her mom that she was going to drive us home while I slept and we might crash. She pointed to herself, mimicked steering, pointed to me and said Shhh, hit herself in the head and said owie. Priceless.

ya i have nothing written down for my girls
I know I've been so bad at letting those little things slip by without being recorded, hopefully I'll get better at that. So I got the Necklace with a "Gabriela" dress from Halloween costumes, last year, but they are also in with a "Gabriela" barbie at the Northside WalMart in the Clearence section, down across from the fabric. They were $4 (I bought 2 of them for birthdays gifts).
I'm so excited about Paige talking more. I can't wait to see her tomorrow. It sounds like you've had a lot of successes this month. You didn't tell me about Ty and the flames players. Good for him. I really enjoyed going to school and reading with him. He was so attentive to my every need. I will get the pictures to you. I'm glad you enjoyed the cake recipe.
I know what you mean about being busy. Morgan has no teeth yet, that is crazy that Nat has 6. Glad things are going good!
